Ex-Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto's Suspected Killers Arrested

Police have seized three people who are suspected to have taken part in the murder of former Kilifi Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had to fly to Mombasa on Thursday to make the arrests.

Sleuths caught up with the alleged criminals in Kisumu Ndogo, Nyali on Friday and are expected to be arraigned in court the same day.

Coast police boss Joseph Ng’ang’a stated that the probe into Kamto's murder had intensified and more arrests would be made in future.

Detectives working on the case also recovered a mobile phone that was stolen from the deceased’s house help.

The search for the gangsters has lasted for a month since the incident happened on December 12, 2018.

Kamto was killed in front of his wife, sister, and house help in a sitting room during a night raid by hooded gunmen at his Nyali house.

The gunmen reportedly demanded cash from Kamto but later left without taking anything from him.

The attackers allegedly seemed to have trailed him and took Kshs 6,000 from a guard before fleeing the scene.

"Our officers from Nyali Police Station rushed to the scene within 15 minutes and found him already dead," Coast Regional Police Commander Noah Mwivanda stated.
