State House Refutes Reports on President Uhuru Hiring Chopper For Prophet Owuor

State House on Sunday refuted reports alleging that President Uhuru Kenyatta sent a chopper to pick up self-claimed 'Prophet' David Owuor from a prayer crusade in Nakuru.

According to Citizen, State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena rubbished the claims that Owuor was picked to meet with the President on Riverside Drive for "a big party".

"I am not aware of any such meeting between President Uhuru and Owuor. And no chopper was sent out," Kanze clarified.

The company operating the chopper that Owuor boarded registration 5Y-HNB, Pro Flight Limited, equally poked holes to the claims by the preacher.

The company's proprietor Captain Neepe indicated that the said helicopter was hired by an individual who contacted his company via social media two to three days prior, noting that this was not the case as with government contracts.

He further stated that whoever chartered the chopper paid in cash, a mode that is uncommon for government procured services.

"I have done a lot of business with State House before. They always send us an LSO (Local Service Order) and they pay after a while… and you can actually see on the bank account that it is from State House. We have never dealt with them in cash," Captain Neepe concluded.

Following the conclusion of a three-day prayer crusade in Nakuru on January 1, 2019, the cleric had sensationally told his congregation "Let me go, the President of the Republic of Kenya has sent me a helicopter".

In his trademark dread-locked beard, the preacher was escorted to the waiting helicopter by his security detail and police officials from the region.

By name-dropping the Head of State, Owour had attracted an ecstatic reaction from the audience outside the hotel in Nakuru.
