Marrying someone in the same profession is advisable as you have advantages like having common goals and understanding each other better.

That would explain the reason why some media personalities have opted to fish from a dating pool of their own professions.

Some have made their union public while others prefer privacy away from the nature of their work.

1. Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan

Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan are considered by many as Citizen TV power couple because they both work for the same station.

They warmed the hearts of many Kenyans when they debuted a new show in July 2018.

The coupling of Lulu and Rashid was part of the Royal Media-owned station's relaunch termed as an "undeniable shake-up of the Kenyan media space".

The two who are famed for their impeccable command of Swahili and their wealth of experience in their previous newscast roles did not disappoint on Nipashe Wikendi.

2. Waihiga Mwaura and Joyce Omondi

Citizen TV’s Waihiga Mwaura married Joyce Omondi, in 2015, at a glamorous wedding at the lush Sawela Lodge in Naivasha. She had quit her show at the station to pursue her studies in 2013.

In 2018, Joyce landed a job as a presenter at Switch TV after being out of media for six years.

3. James Smart and Remmy Majala

Former NTV journalist James Smart is married to Switch TV’s Remmy Majala.

The two have been together way before 2014, but their relationship has been successfully kept away from the public eye. They currently have two children.

4. Joab Mwaura and Nancy Onyancha

The two become Kenya's second celebrity couple to be working in the same media house after Citizen Tv's Rashid Abdalla and Lulu Hassan.

The K24 presenters announced their engagement in March 2017 and the news was soon followed by their wedding ceremony.

5. Tom Japanni and Massawe Jappani

Head of Radio Maisha Tom Japanni and Radio Jambo’s Massawe Japanni got married in 2007 and have been together ever since.

Massawe is a celebrated radio personality who has built herself a name thanks to her impeccable prowess behind the microphone

She also worked with Q FM, a station that was owned by Nation Media Group but was poached to join Mediamax-owned Milele FM before she moved to Radio Jambo.

6. DJ Mo and Size 8

Linet Muraya aka Size 8’s wedding made headlines in Kenya when she got married to her husband Samwel Muraya, popularly known as DJ Mo, in September 2013.

DJ Mo plays on NTV’s popular show Crossover 101 while his wife host Pambio Live on Maisha magic East.

The made headlines again when Mo narrated how his wife had left him for one week after a disagreement. He told journalists that the two argued one morning and after the popular DJ went about his duties, he went home to find Size 8 gone.

7. DJ John and Amina Abdi

Despite DJ John Rabar and Amina Abdi both being celebrated media people, not many know about their union.

The Homeboyz Radio CEO met the love of his life when she joined the company’s radio school. The school had promised that the top student would get a job at the radio station and well, they kept their promise.

In 2018, John bought The Trend host a brand new BMW for her 29th birthday.
