Vocal Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria on Thursday evening held a presser at Parliament Buildings where he claimed that his life is in danger.
During the presser, Kuria alleged that he has been receiving death threats following his criticism of President Uhuru Kenyatta and has reported the matter to the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti.
In his statement, Kuria equally rallied Kenyans to demonstrate positivity, unity, hardwork and respect for each and everyone including the leaders and the President.
"I call upon all Kenyans not to give up on this country. This is the generation that will fix our country," the Gatundu South MP exuded optimism.
He also iterated that his relationship with the President is "excellent", adding that "opportunists" were trying to create a rift between him and the Head of State.
Kuria blamed the attacks on "people with political scores to settle" with him and "politicians taking opportunity to revive their dead or collapsing political careers".
"I am troubled that they are doing it in a manner that is designed to create a rift between myself and the President with whom I enjoy excellent relations and who is indeed one of the 72,000 voters from Gatundu South who are my defacto employers," Kuria noted.
The MP indicated that the presser was meant to "put to an end to the subtle and not too subtle threats to my life from opportunists details of which I shared with DCI George Kinoti".
The presser comes days after he caused a storm after accusing President Uhuru of neglecting the Mt Kenya region.
New Year eve celebrations at Thika Stadium, Kuria had made the sensational remarks implying Uhuru is biased in his development agenda.
Sources had it that the MP had written to Speaker Justin Muturi on Thursday tendering his resignation.
"I want to say this, as we come to the end of 2019, I want you to think a seriously about your habit of voting in large numbers only to end up missing out on development projects," he had told the revelers.
