List of Reduced Medical Prices Introduced by Govt in Private Hospitals

Government through the Ministry of Health to issued a directive for all public health to slash their doctor’s fee.

Via a statement on Tuesday, Health CS Sicily Kariuki stated that the reduction of fees was in line with the realization of the Universal Healthcare plan.

To this end, the goodwill of doctors in the process of supporting universal health coverage by improving access by assuring affordability, cannot go unappreciated. They have essentially given Wanjiku a 41 percent reduction," stated the CS.

If the National Assembly Health Committee approves the new changes, then expectant mothers to undergo normal deliveries will enjoy a Kshs14,400 reduction to pay Kshs57,600.

Women looking to undergo a fistula operation will also only pay Kshs64,000, whereas minimum fee charged will drop to Kshs1,440 from Kshs1,800.

Maximum fee chargeable will also reduce from Kshs5,000 to Kshs4,000.

Adult Circumcision is also set to reduce from Kshs50,000 to Kshs40,000 while that of children will now cost Kshs56,000 from Kshs 70,000.

Dentist consultations will reduce from Kshs4,000 to Kshs3,200 whereas consultations of specialist will cost between Kshs 2,880 and Kshs 6,000.

Emergency night visits will decrease by Kshs3,400 to cost Kshs14,400.

General medical and dental reports to reduce from Kshs12,000 to Kshs9,600

Cancer resection and bone graft surgeries will reduce to Kshs249,00 from Kshs312,000, radical mastectomy from Kshs180,000 to Kshs144,000 and a skin biopsy from Ksh36,000 to Kshs28,800.

Those seeking to undergo a vasectomy will now part with a reduced amount of Kshs14,400 from Kshs18,000.

Charges of having a medical practitioner to appear in court, which normally cost between Kshs50,000 and Kshs120,000, will now charge a minimum of Kshs40,000 and a maximum of Kshs96,000.

Players in the industry had, however, asked to be given more time to review the new price range.
