DCI Nabs Cartel After Drugging Victims and Stealing 10 Cars in Nairobi, Kajiado

A dangerous cartel was, on Monday, charged with the theft of 10 cars in Nairobi and Kajiado.

The three, Nahashon Ayiecha, also known as Kindler, Peter Njuguna, alias Ndingo, and Caleb Aluanga, also known as Macho, were accused of drugging motorists and security guards in the two counties.

During the arrest last week, detectives found the three in possession of tools used to break into vehicles.

They were also found with a bottle containing nine tablets of Roche Valium.

The drugs were so strong that the victims, mostly security guards, were found sleeping hours after they had been administered.

In some instances, victims were found unconscious with serious wounds resulting from vicious beatings.

Appearing before resident magistrate Hellen Okwani, the three denied charges that were labelled against them.

They were facing more than 20 counts including theft of the vehicles and conspiracy to commit felonies.

The three were also charged with preparation to commit a felony after they drugged several motorists and security guards with stupefying drugs.

They were, however, released on a Kshs 600,000 bond with surety of a similar amount.

Lang'ata DCI Chief Samson Kiptum revealed that the case would be consolidated for a joint trial with that of an accomplice who was arrested last year after a stolen car was traced back to his home in Kirinyaga County.
