Madowo Warns Kenyans of Fraudster Posing as His Manager

British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Africa Business Editor Larry Madowo has threatened to take legal action against a man who has been posing as his manager and strategist.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, the former NTV news anchor warned the public not to be conned by the man who goes by the name Wilkings Odinga Fadhili.

Madowo stated that he does not know Fadhili and has never rubbed shoulders with him.

Fadhili, who describes himself a “Brand Strategist, Developer & Founder CEO BrandLabAfrica and Forbes Africa Top 30 under 30” on his Twitter bio, had on December 12 indicated that Larry Madowo is one of the 5 personal brands that he’s in charge of.

However, according to Madowo, nothing could be further from the truth.

The 31-year-old journalist has on several occasions issued warnings to fraudsters who ask for money from Kenyans using his name.

In January, Madowo revealed that there were at least 8 pseudo-Facebook accounts purporting to be him.

He stated that the pseudo-accounts allegedly run various schemes for scamming unsuspecting individuals.

Furthermore, he reiterated that any content he posted on his real account was legitimate and did not contain false information.

He urged his followers to unfriend and report the scammers, adding that he would never ask them for money.
