Former Machakos gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti and marathon legend Paul Tergat are among the people who have landed government jobs according to a recent Kenya Gazette Issue.
Wavinya has been appointed to chair the governing council of the Kenya Water Institute, for a period of three years while fellow politician Kalembe Ndile has joined the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency board.
Wavinya lost to Governor Alfred Mutua in 2017 and disputed his win but the Supreme Court upheld the election of the governor.
Tergat, the first Kenyan to win the World Cross Country Championship title in five consecutive years (1995-1999), has been appointed to chair the Kenya Academy of Sports Council.
According to a special issue of The Kenya Gazette, the marathoner will be at the helm of the council for the next three years.
His athletics counterpart Katherine Ndereba has also been appointed as a member of the academy's governing council.
Other notable individuals have also been appointed to various government boards.
Mount Kenya University founder Simon Gicharu has been reappointed as the Chairperson of the Rural Electrification Authority Board.
Former Laikipia Governor Joshua Irungu has been selected to chair the Water Services Regulatory Board.
Former Kajiado West MP Moses ole Sakuda has joined Ewaso Ng'iro South Development Authority as a board member.
