Chief Justice David Maraga is set to hire 41 new judges to help deal with backlog of cases.
Maraga gazetted the vacancies on Friday after Judicial Service Commission (JSC) approved the recruitment.
The Court of Appeal has 11 open posts to be filled by candidates who will be expected to hear and determine appeals arising from the High Court or tribunals.
Applicants should have at least 10 years’ experience in the country’s or another Commonwealth law jurisdiction.
In the Environment and Land Court JSC plans to recruit 20 judges.
This court has the mandate to hear and determine disputes relating to environmental planning, title deeds, land tenure, boundaries, rates, rents, valuations, mining, minerals and other natural resources.
At the Employment and Labour Relations Court (ELRC), Maraga declared 10 vacancies.
On Wednesday, Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji announced he is seeking to recruit over 100 new staff to help beef up the war on graft.
The staff being sought include 65 prosecution clerks, 32 prosecution counsel, five senior researchers and five research officers.
Other positions advertised include statisticians, librarians and drivers.
