High Court Advocate Robert Chesang Shot Dead in Broad Daylight

Gunmen entered the home of an advocate of the High Court on Sunday afternoon and shot him dead.

Lawyer Robert Chesang was murdered in his house at Moke Gardens, Machakos County where police found seven spent cartridges of an AK-47 rifle.

The lawyer is reported to have been home alone during the time of the incident.

Police officers were alerted of the shooting and upon arrival, they found that the main gate and door had been locked.

“The officers jumped into the compound where they peeped through the door and saw his body lying in a pool of blood in the living room,” narrated an officer who was at the scene.

Authorities believe he may have been tortured and dragged before being gun down in cold blood.

Police are yet to establish the motive behind the shooting.

“It is rare to find thugs with rifles and especially AK-47. This seems to be classic elimination using serious people probably state operatives,” suggested an officer.

The body has since been moved to Shalom Hospital Mortuary in Athi River.

The deceased is known to have been practising in various law courts in the country.
