Sonko Fulfills Promise to Give Boniface Murage a Job [PHOTOS]

Boniface Murage will be among applicants to be considered for employment at the Nairobi City Government in the ongoing beautification programme.

On Wednesday, Murage met Chief of Staff Peter Mugo Kamau and Environment Chief Officer David Makori.

This is after Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko offered him a job on Tuesday.

"This is to notify you (Boniface Murage) that you have been offered a job at the Nairobi's Environmental Department," part of a letter from the governor stated.

On his Facebook page, Sonko posted photos on Murage in working attire stating he would continue helping the youth get employment.

"I will continue to offer my support and assistance to the jobless youth in Nairobi as a way of creating job opportunities to the less fortunate in the Society," Sonko noted.

Murage was arrested after trying to smuggle his child from Kenyatta National Hospital because he did not have Ksh56,000 to foot a pending bill.

He pleaded guilty before Nairobi magistrate, Caroline Nzibe at the Milimani Law Courts and was handed a three-month suspended sentence.

The Ksh56,000 bill was paid by a good Samaritan while Sonko Rescue team took Murage's wife shopping for baby requirements.

Murage expressed his gratitude to those who had helped him.
