The wife to late legendary musician Joseph Kamaru has died only four months after his death.
Reports by The Standard indicate that Susan Wangari Kamaru passed away a week ago aged 78.
Sources indicate that Wangari has been suffering from high blood pressure in addition to other illnesses that had made her very frail.
According to Daily Nation, Wangari was being taken care of at her daughter’s home in Rongai area, Nairobi.
After the passing of Joseph Kamaru, Wangari was left residing in their matrimonial home in Kangema, Murang’a.
Quoting her sons, The Standard indicated that the family intends to bury her at the home on Friday.
The sons Boniface Maina and Stephen Macharia informed that the family has already finalized the burial plans.
Maina also communicated that the family had spent a fortune in trying to take care of their ailing mother over the past months.
He stated, “She died on Saturday at around 10pm when she visited my sister in Rongai. Our mother has been ailing for three years and had been treated in various hospitals.”
Wangari’s last public appearance was during the burial of her famous husband at Heho village in Kigumo sub-county, which was attended by among other dignitaries President Uhuru Kenyatta, DP William Ruto, and leader of Opposition Raila Odinga.
