Nairobi OCS & Son Arrested Over Robert Chesang's Murder

Detectives on Wednesday arrested an OCS based in Nairobi and his son over their alleged connection to the brutal murder of Lawyer Robert Chesang

The police boss whose name was withheld is reported to own the car that transported gunmen to the lawyer's house.

The car was detained on Tuesday and the two people found in it were arrested. They identified the OCS as the owner of the vehicle.

Eight AK-47 rifles were seized in a raid conducted at his station and submitted for ballistic tests.

“We want to establish if any of the weapons were used in the murder. They are prime suspects for now,” an officer told The Standard

The detectives are a step closer into unraveling the murder of Chesang as seven spent cartridges of an AK-47 rifle were found at the scene of the crime.

On that fateful day, two attackers were captured by CCTV cameras entering and leaving his compound. They knocked on his door and the lawyer peeped through the curtain.

When they spotted him, one of the shooters opened fire, killing him on the spot.

An examination of the body showed that the high-court advocate was shot three times on the chest.

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) condemned the murder and asked the Police IG Joseph Boinnet to expedite the probe.
