Residents Block Beijing Road in Syokimau [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

Angry Kenyan protesters, on Saturday morning, closed Beijing Road in Syokimau area, Machakos county.

According to a witness, the angry protesters took to the streets after a company, Acceler Global Logistics, had converted the narrow road into a parking lot for its numerous trucks.

The resident further revealed that the trucks had worsened the traffic snarl up experienced by the car owners.

"The trucks have caused major traffic and has inconvenienced us especially in the morning and evening hours," stated the witness.

The residents thronged the street as early as 4:30am and by the time of writing this story, the protest was still ongoing.

Separately, another protest had allegedly been staged at Kangemi area along Waiyaki way leading to traffic snurl up.

According to the area residents, the protesters demanded the police retrieve the body of an 11-year-old who had drowned on Friday.

"If you’re on Waiyaki Way be informed the road has been blocked on both sides by demonstrators at the Engen after Kianda School.

"Apparently someone died at a nearby dam. Grab some snacks and wait it out. It’s going to be a long one," posted a social media user.
