DCI Goes After Prophet Owuor Over Ksh1.5 Billion Estate Tussle

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched investigations into self-proclaimed prophet David Owuor over ksh1.5 billion property tussle with one of his follower’s family.

The family of Jane Njagi, a former partner at J M Njagi Advocates firm recently accused Owuor’s Ministry of Holiness and Repentance of brainwashing their kin into becoming a bishop.

It is reported that Ms Njagi vacated her serviced apartment block located on Rahpta Road, Westlands and donated it to the church for Bible study.

According to the family, Owuor has allegedly been pocketing millions of shillings in monthly rent from the upscale apartments.

Detectives from Kabete Police Station, led by DCIO Francis Wanjau, have since taken over the matter and seized property documents from Dove Apartment and another property located in Riverside, Nairobi.

The police launched the probe in a bid to rail the proceeds of the property in question.

Dove Apartments has 14 townhouses that attract rent of Ksh.170,000 each: summing up to Ksh2,380,000 per month and Ksh28,560,000 annually.

Citizen Digital reported that detectives are also looking into the sale of 108 acres of the lawyer’s land in Thika that was sold in 2011 at a cost of Ksh850.8 million.

Ms Njagi through her company Shaba Investments, owns properties in Westlands, Lavington, Riverside, Thika and Mombasa.

Her kin further alleged that the church coerced her to appoint Lilly Njagi as a co-director in Shaba Investments Limited.
