Uhuru's Message in French Causes Hilarious Reactions

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday welcomed the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, who is in the country for a two-day State visit.

On Twitter, President Kenyatta wrote a welcome message to the president in the French language.

"Je suis ravi d’accueillir mon ami Son Excellence Président Emanuel Macron de la République de France à State House, Nairobi (I am delighted to host my friend H.E. President @EmmanuelMacron of France at State House, Nairobi in his historic visit to Kenya)," he noted in French.

"Kenya and France enjoy a cordial relationship that has helped spur growth in different areas for the benefit of our people," he added.

Kenyans commented on the post, some of them making fun on Uhuru's choice of language.

"Oui. Monsieur le corruption is le kulaing ze legacy. et la France wanajua. Make corruption le Big ONE,"  noted @bpmasinde.

"I hope hakuna kitu inapotea brathe (My brother, I hope nothing will get lost)," wrote Michael Adundo.

"Hii Loan unaomba France utalipa mwenyewe. Ata ugeuze lugha, tunajua ni loan unaomba (You will pay the loan you are borrowing even if you change the language)" stated Keyser Souze.

The France president arrived in Nairobi, on Wednesday afternoon and proceeded to State House where he was honored with a 21-gun salute.
