Crash Victims Families Make Heartfelt Request to Govt

Families of the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 302 Boeing 737 Max jet, have asked the government to assist them get compensation through legal representation.

Others have asked the government to speed up the process of determining the DNA of their relatives.

The families were speaking during a meeting between them and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

A widower, Denis Adhoch, stated that he was concerned his family and others had been left on their own.

However, some of the family members stated they were satisfied with the help they had received from the State so far.

"We are grateful that we were supplied with air tickets to Ethiopia to see the crash site and the support the ministry is giving us," Richmond Mureithi stated.

He added that a joint memorial service should be held for all the crash victims.

Ethiopian Airlines had assured it would compensate the victims.

They had noted that families of the victims will receive between Ksh17 million and Ksh25 million for each life lost.

They added the exact amounts would vary due to factors such as age, profession and their position in life.

The ill-fated crash left 36 Kenyans dead.
