DPP Saves Single Mum's 90 Acres From Armed Grabbers

DPP Noordin Haji came to the rescue of a single mother after losing her land to grabbers who had attacked and injured her on many occasions.

The DPP was in Lamu County where he listened to the woman narrate her frustrations.

On asking the Interior Ministry official who had accompanied him about the matter, he explained that they were not aware of the woman's story.

"You don't know the matter? How long have you been here? " Haji asked the administrator who answered that he had been in office for nine months.

"Can you make sure that whoever is occupying her land vacates it and hands over to her," he directed.

He turned to one of his officers based in coast to start investigations because the woman had been beaten and maimed.

She narrated that the attacks had made her unable to perform heavy duties like farming on her own land.

"In the meantime, I'll follow up with the CS arudishiwe ardhi yake (to give the land back to the lady)," Haji pledged.

He also vowed to return for updates on the case.

"Na nikiskia mama ameshikwa ujue nyinyi mtakuwa responsible (If I hear that anything has happened to this woman, I will hold you responsible)," he warned the local administrators.
