New information regarding city lawyer Assa Nyakundi's murder case has been revealed following CCTV footage from the Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication.
The footage appears to contradict the lawyer's statement that he was near his Muthaiga North home when the shooting took place.
Reports from Daily Nation indicated that sleuths stated there was a 31 minutes time lapse, in which the lawyer's location could not be accounted for.
This was from the time his car was spotted at Museum Hill to when he arrived at the hospital.
The footage shows the car was captured at Museum Hill at 12:50pm and later entering Aga Khan hospital from Limuru road.
Police believe that it was during the 31 minutes that Joseph Nyakundi was shot dead.
Assa Nyakundi is still hospitalized at the Nairobi hospital after he developed shock symptoms at the Muthaiga police station.
At the police station, he had reported that he had accidentally shot his son while securing his gun from a holster as he approached his home from church.
However, the post-mortem contradicted the report, citing the 29-year-old had been shot at an angle of 90 degrees and from outside his car.
Nyakundi is a licensed firearm holder and his Glock pistol is equipped with three independent safety measures according to an Austrian manufacturer.
The advocate has represented a number of prominent Kenyans, including Nyeri Magistrate Pauline Chesang, who was recently accused of killing her husband lawyer Robert Chesang.
