Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni visited the former Kenyan head of state Daniel Arap Moi on Friday as he concluded his three-day official tour in the country.
He also paid a visit to the Ugandan National Assembly Speaker Rebbeca Kadaga who was flown from Kampala for treatment a few weeks ago and is recuperating at a Nairobi hospital.
After the hospital visit, Museveni went to the Kenyatta Mausoleum where he paid homage to the first Kenyan president Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
In his tweet, Museveni stated, "This morning, as I end my three-day state visit to Kenya, I visited the mausoleum where founding president Jomo Kenyatta rests and paid my respects. I also visited Mzee Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi and our Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, who are in hospital. I wish them a speedy recovery.”
Though Museveni seemingly indicated that Moi was in hospital, contrary reports indicate he visited the retired president at his home in Nairobi.
The Ugandan leader has been in the country since Wednesday, where he and President Uhuru Kenyatta have discussed several issues that affect both countries.
Museveni is due to give a lecture at Kenyatta University on Friday afternoon as the institution confirmed and had to reschedule exams to enable students to attend.
He became the first foreign head of state to ride the SGR in the country after boarding the Madaraka Express from Mombasa to Nairobi.
During his visit, the two head of states discussed bi-lateral trades between the two countries that saw an increase in imports of sugar, eggs, and poultry from Uganda.
Kenya also offered to give Uganda a piece of land in Naivasha to enable them build a dry port so as to enhance business.
