Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has hinted at who he will offer the position of being his Running Mate in the 2022 General Election.
Kuria was peaking in Nyamira County, where he joined Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka and area legislators for a funds drive for Nyanturago Catholic Church.
The Standard reported that the outspoken lawmaker announced that he will choose a running mate from the region.
“I am assuring you that your son who is now the Prime Minister will be my running mate in 2022," he declared.
The description given by Kuria suggested that he was eyeing Interior CS Fred Matiang'i who was appointed to oversee coordination of the Cabinet who hails from the region and is popular for his tough nature.
"You know very well that in Kenya, it's only me and him who do not tolerate nonsense and we will make things happen in the country,” the presidential candidate added.
The parliamentarian also put President Uhuru Kenyatta on the spot over the deals agreed upon during Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni's visit to the country.
He lamented that the agreements signed favoured Uganda more than they did Kenya.
"President Museveni was recently in the country and we signed some deals with him. However, these deals only favour Uganda and it needs to be reviewed.
"If the protocol states that we should import sugar, hens, and maize from Uganda then it will undermine Kenyan farmers," Kuria explained.
He asked his fellow MPs to re-look into the deal to ensure that Kenyan farmers are not disadvantaged.
