Court Orders DPP to Release Vehicles Impounded in Dam Scandal

The Director of Public Prosecution, Noordin Haji, has been ordered to hand over the vehicles he had impounded over the dam scandal.

Justice Francis Tuiyott ordered the vehicles be held at Casuarina Ltd's yard in Nakuru, pending the determination of the case.

A local bank had moved to court, citing that the Italian company, CMC Di Ravenna had an advanced loan of Ksh1 billion, hence, did not want the vehicles disposed of.

The court, therefore, ordered the bank to take note of the transfer pending hearing and determination of the case on May 21, 2019.

Reports by Citizen Digital indicate the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) led by George Kinoti, has concluded the investigations into the dam scandal.

The report added that the files have been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution for further action.

Meanwhile, three Cabinet Secretaries face sacking by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the Ksh21 billion dam scandal to allow for investigations to take place.

Reports indicate there is speculation within intelligence circles that President Uhuru will use his State of Nation address to ask all Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries involved in various scandals to step aside.

The CSs implicated in the dams scandal are Simon Chelugui (Water) , Henry Rotich (National Treasury), Eugene Wamalwa (Devolution) and Mwangi Kiunjuri (Agriculture).
