A letter emerged and circulated online, purporting the Agriculture CS, Mwangi Kiunjuri, had resigned.
The CS took to his Twitter account to deny the reports, terming the letter as fake and asked the public to dismiss it.
"My attention has been drawn to a fake letter circulating on social media purporting that I have resigned. Treat it with the contempt it deserves," he stated.
His response did not go down well with netizens, most of whom immediately asked the former Laikipia East MP when to expect his real resignation.
One user was quick to accept Kiunjuri's statement but with a twist, when he wrote, “It's alright, but when are you planning to resign?”
Another by the name Mwirii Nicholas, called for the CS to resign instead of waiting to get fired. “It is good to resign before you are Echesad, Mark my words,” he advised.
In the past few weeks, the Agriculture CS has recorded several statements with the DCI in relation to the loss of over Ksh21 Billion in the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandals.
Kiunjuri also found himself on the wrong side of President Uhuru Kenyatta's books when he was scolded in front of the diaspora population in Namibia for failing to take notes on their concerns.
Some netizens took the CS to task over the 31 dams he claimed would be built by the time the rains began.
On this, Kelie Nick wrote: “Mr 31 dams before the rains. The rains are here.”, while Karey Mwari wrote: “Where are the dams you were to build before the rains? We need a progress report.”
Kenyans on Twitter asked the CS to call it quits as scandals seemed to follow him everywhere.
