Mombasa Governor, Ali Hassan Joho narrated of days he would wake up at 4am just to frustrate President Uhuru Kenyatta during his functions in Mombasa.
Joho stated he would be out of his house at 4am, together with his bodyguard and wait for the president's function to start so he could turn up.
His purpose would be to troll the president and the Jubilee government.
The Governor added that he was once put under house arrest by the president who did not want him to disrupt his function.
Reports by The Star indicated that Joho's allies would also prevent him from attending the functions.
“I used to call people, my close allies. ‘Uhuru is coming tomorrow and I think I have to go’ I would tell them. They all always rejected the idea,” Joho stated.
“At 4am or 5am I would sneak out, knowing my allies would come to my house and lock me in. They would only see me already at Uhuru’s functions,” he added.
The Governor was speaking during the launch of Embrace Movement held at the Sheikh Zayed Centre in Bombolulu, Mombasa.
The Mombasa Governor and the president were once enemies who tore each other in public, however, the Handshake has made things better for the two leaders.
In November 2018, they were first spotted exchanging pleasantries, an indication they had put the past behind them.
