Popular Actress Narrates Abusive Childhood Experience

Award-winning actress, Nyce Wanjeri, has narrated that she grew up in an abusive environment where she would get trolled by her relatives.

On her Instagram page, she narrated that she encountered a lot of negativity while growing up.

"I vividly remember the number of times I'd overhear some relatives claim that I would not amount to anything," she noted.

She added that her relatives did not care if she was listening to them or not.

"The girl has big eyes and a small body resembling a stick and she is always talking," they would state.

The actress narrated that her self-confidence was affected, hence, she vowed that she would never allow her children to face the same.

"I vowed to bring up my young ones in an environment full of positivity, letting them know that they did not need people's approval to know their worth, intelligence and beauty," she wrote.

In 2018, Wanjeri won an award during the 6th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) at Lagos, Nigeria.

Wanjeri, who was popularly known as Shiro of Auntie Boss, a program she used to act won Best Actress in Comedy and TV series.

"This is my first time to board a plane and I came to Nigeria and from being nominated for the first time to winning an award is beyond my wildest dreams,” she stated in her acceptance speech.
