Sonko Halts Senate Hearing to Pee Citing His JKIA Electrocution [VIDEO]

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's alleged electrocution at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) might have been serious especially after he halted a Senate hearing to attend to a call of nature.

Sonko was appearing before the Senate's Devolution Committee to answer questions about Nairobi leadership and why he did not have a deputy for the past one year.

A few hours into the grill, however, Sonko had to warn the committee that he would take several leaves for the bathroom during the hearing just to keep up with his current condition.

"Mr chair, before I take that question, I ask for your permission to be going to the bathroom frequently because recently when I landed from London, I had an incident at the airport where I was electrocuted.

"With all the due respect, this is not a laughing matter, I am not joking about this, I will be seeking for so many permissions," he stated.

Sonko claimed to have been electrocuted on Thursday, April 18, at JKIA washrooms shortly after he had landed into the country from London.

Taking to Facebook at the time, he disclosed that should the electric shock interfered with his reproductive organs and would sue the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA).

"Nimepigwa shock kwa machine nikinyoraa (I have been electrocuted while urinating). If I fail to sire more babies I will sure KAA.

"This is the state of our bathrooms. KAA wake up what's the point of paying millions of shillings to managers in salaries and yet they're sleeping on their jobs," he posted at the time.

KAA, however, issued a statement shortly after Sonko made the revelations claiming that the sorry state of the washrooms was as a result of vandalism.
