Why Kisii Man Killed 4-Months Pregnant Newlywed Wife

Police in Kisii have revealed the alleged reason why a Kisii man, George Marita, strangled his newlywed wife, Dorcas Nyaboke, to death on Monday.

Mr Marita, clouded with rage, choked the life out of his 4-months pregnant newlywed wife and proceeded to try and take his own life by throwing himself into a nearby river.

Reports by Citizen Digital indicate that hell broke loose at Mr Marita's homestead after his better half questioned him on his whereabouts and why he was coming in so late on Sunday night.

This led to a prolonged argument culminating in the untimely death of Ms Nyaboke and their unborn baby at the hands of her enraged husband.

The murderous spouse then reportedly made his way to the nearby River Kegati and plunged to what he hoped would be his death, but it wasn't to be as passersby saw him fall and rushed in successfully rescuing him.

It was his brother who consequently discovered the lifeless body of Ms Nyaboke sprawled out on the bed and covered in blankets as he escorted Marita home.

The brother then went on to raise the alarm resulting in the suspect's arrest.

Mr Marita is currently being held at Kisii Central Police Station in order to allow the officers to wind up their investigations, while his late wife's body was transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

In a similar incident, a man from Kaplelach village in Sigowet Constituency hacked his wife to death after he allegedly found her with another man in his matrimonial home.

The deceased couple had tied the knot quite recently but were constantly engaged in never-ending quarrels that often turned physical.
