Mother Poisons 3 Children With Pesticide in Kericho County

Three children lost their lives on Monday morning after their mother reportedly poisoned them with insecticides.

According to reports by Citizen Digital, the incident happened at Lami Juu area in Sosiot, Kericho County.

Belgut OCPD Philip Okello confirmed the incident, stating that preliminary investigations showed the woman took her own life thereafter.

Bodies of the four were discovered by neighbours who realised that they had taken too long to wake up.

The bodies of the deceased were to transferred to the mortuary.

In other shocking news, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's workers, on Saturday, stumbled upon a dead body during a cleaning exercise.

The workers, who are part of the Ng'arisha Jiji exercise launched by the governor, found the body of the man along Ngong’ river near Kware ward in Embakasi South.

In a statement to newsrooms, Nairobi County Communications team indicated that with the revelation, the total number of decomposing bodies found in the same river rose to four since the beginning of the exercise in 2018.

Speaking over the matter, Sonko noted that he had sought the help of the police to aid in the handling of the bodies unearthed during the exercise.

Ngarisha Jiji, which was launched by the County's First Lady Primrose Mbuvi, entails workers who unblock sewer lines, remove campaign posters and clear moulds of garbage among other functions across the city.
