Damning Evidence Dubai Sheikh Gave Uhuru in Fake Gold Scam

Details have emerged of a meeting Dubai ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, held with President Uhuru Kenyatta and AU Special Envoy Raila Odinga in a bid to recover his gold consignment.

A report by The Standard indicates that the meeting occurred on April 27, 2019, in Dubai, where the Sheikh allegedly produced an audio recording of the royal representative Ali Zandi communicating with a Kenyan contact.

The publication disclosed that the audio clip was believed to be the same one that leaked online over the weekend titled 'Wetang’ula exposed in fake gold scam,'  in which investigations are currently ongoing.

After three months trying to have his gold delivered, the Sheikh sought to personally bring the matter to the attention of the president during a stopover in Dubai, when they were returning from a summit in China.

It is reported that the Dubai ruler explained to the duo that he had been taken in circles in Nairobi over the gold consignment that was to be trucked from DRC Congo and flown out via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

He had earlier on January 20, 2019, written to Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to release the goods which the Kenyan contact claimed had been held at the airport.

"Now we need your immediate and strong action to release the totality of Zlivia Gold shipment to UAE as soon as possible and according to the instructions by our General Manager Mr Zandi, who is there in Kenya to organise the shipment," the letter read in part.

The Standard further reported that upon his return to Nairobi, Uhuru called the senior security bosses where he expressed his concerns over the con games.

He played the audio clip to CS Matiang'i, National Intelligence Service boss Maj Gen Philip Kameru, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho and demanded for immediate action.
