Inside Look at DP Ruto's Jet

A photo showing the inside look of a jet used by Deputy President William Ruto has emerged and seems to be one of the few images leaked to the public.

In the photo shared by a Facebook user, Martoh Muriithi, the deputy president poses for a selfie taken by Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei.

"Senator Cherargai and H.E William Ruto Jetting back to Nairobi aboard Kenya Airforce Jet. This is among the first images being leaked out to the public of how this Jet looks like Inside," Muriithi captioned.

Despite the interior of the plane looking a bit cosy and warm, some did not seem to get mesmerized by the structure.

"The lighting is too dull," one George Maina noted.

"It looks like the face me buses, I don't like the interiors," another netizen added.

In April, the Deputy President was planning to get another chopper to ease his trips across the country.

His office placed an advertisement in a local daily calling for suitable bids to lease a helicopter and a fixed wing to his office.

The Government of Kenya, through the office of the DP, invited tenders for the two air charter services.

The applications to supply the aircrafts included payment of a non-refundable fee of Ksh 1,000, and one also needed to be registered with relevant trades and categories.

Ruto is rumoured to own at least one private helicopter although Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, has in the past alleged that he is the owner but lends it out to the DP.

The cost of hiring a chopper in Kenya goes for as high as Ksh150,000 to Ksh200,000 per hour depending on the leasing company and model of the aircraft.
