Embakasi East member of the National Assembly Babu Owino has rescued a single mother by giving her a business after she pleaded with him.
Taking to social media, the outspoken legislator explained that he was touched by the woman's story after he saw that her pleas were genuine judging by her determination.
The MP even likened her to his own mother who was a single parent.
In a bid to help the woman support her family he opened a small business for her.
"When I looked at her, I think of my beloved mother who also struggled as a single parent. I hope that through this small assistance by opening for her business she will be empowered to take care of her family’s requirements and her community at large," Babu stated
In the video, the visibly overjoyed woman is seen seated next to a rack containing groceries search as kale, eggs and bananas.
"Baba yetu Babu Owino, nimeshukuru kwa kazi uliyonifanyia, sikuwa najiweza, sikuwa na mbele wala nyuma. (Babu Owino, I thank you for the work you did for me. I was stranded, I did not have any means of taking care of my family.)
"Nilikuja kwa ofisi yenu, nikaomba msaada. Umenitumia watu, wameniletea msaada wakanifungulia store. Sina la kukupea lakini nashukuru sana. (I came to your office and asked for help. You then sent people over who brought me the help and set up my store. I am truly grateful.)," she stated.
