How Woman Outsmarted Police Officer & Stole His Gun

Details have emerged over how a Nairobi woman tricked a police officer and made away with his gun during an incident that took place in January this year.

According to a report by The Standard, the woman, Lydia Njeri, lured the victim, intelligence officer Peter Kilemi, for a drink at a bar in Utawala area, Nairobi.

The suspect then feigned drunkness after drugging the officer and asked him to drop her at a certain stage so that she could take a motorbike to her house.

Unknowing that he had been drugged, the officer agreed and while on their way to the stage, he felt dizzy. That was when he parked his car and the woman robbed him.

When he woke up the following morning, Kilemi found himself in the car alone and both his phone and gun were missing.

For the offence, Njeri was sentenced to seven years in prison without an option of a fine.

In his ruling, Makadara chief magistrate Heston Nyaga explained that the case of women drugging before robbing people in clubs had become rampant and that his ruling should be a warning.

“Cases of women drugging and stealing from men are on the rise. Their work is to go to clubs and look for someone to drug and rob,” ruled the judge.

In her defence, Njeri argued that she did not know she was stealing a gun from Kilemi.

“When I realised that I had stolen a gun, I threw it in a pit latrine,” she argued.
