KTN Crew Stoned by Students on Principal's Order

KTN reporter Caroline Bii, her cameraman, Magana Kirira and driver only identified as Emaculate Joseph suffered injuries on Monday after students of St.Stephens Girls Secondary School, Machakos County allegedly stoned and kicked them out of their school.

The journalists, who had gone to acquire information about a form two student who went missing since first term, were chased away by the students reportedly after a directive from their principal, Charles Kioko.

The vehicle they were using was also torched by the students and their camera's destroyed.

The girl's mother narrated that after she resumed school from the half-term break, she had not heard from her, Ms Bii narrated to KTN News.

She added when the term was almost coming to a close, she called the school to inquire the exact closing day but was told that her daughter had not resumed school from the half term break.

On finding out from her daughter's classmates, they cited that she had resumed classes but only stayed in school for two days, after which she was sent home for school fees-related issues.

The principal argued that the journalists wanted to malign the school's name and directed the students to harass them.

The KTN-based journalists have already reported the incident at a Machakos police station.

They did not manage to make away with their vehicle but left it at the school.
