Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, on Thursday evening, declared war in parliament during a session meant to discuss the report on the vetting of seven nominees for ambassadorial posts.
The irate legislator stood to counter questions that were directed to ambassador hopeful Mwende Mwinzi that she felt were too personal. Mwinzi, who holds two citizenship, one for Kenya and the other for the US, was nominated as the new South Korean Ambassador.
"We should then leave to the men in this parliament to oversee the private parts of women in the national assembly if their work is to unnecessarily question all women leaders in this country!" Millie retorted.
During the heated speech, Millie Odhiambo mentioned that one of the women leaders who suffered the wrong judgment of men is Esther Passaris.
The Nairobi Women Rep has been under fire ever since Madaraka Day celebrations when Governor Sonko rubbed her wrongly by telling her not to call him frequently because he was not her husband.
Esther Passaris walked out of the event and the tiff between the two Nairobi leaders has been a subject of discussion countrywide ever since.
"Leave Esther Passaris alone, leave the women of the national assembly alone to do their jobs or else we (women leaders) will deal with you perpendicularly," the charged MP remarked.
Suna East MP Junet Muhammed sought the speaker's guidance on whether what Millie Odhiambo said was right. The speaker asked the fiery Suba MP to clarify and she affirmed her words.
"Yes, I said let the men in this assembly oversee the private parts of women leaders because it seems like that is the only good thing they can do. I know some of the men here have up to twenty girlfriends and we (women legislators) have never questioned you."
Her last sentiments were received with mixed reactions with some visibly enraged by her notions, some were laughing while her female counterparts in the house cheered her on with hearty claps.
