Interior CS Fred Matiang'i has revealed a moment where he saw the president's no-nonsense side first hand.
Many think that Matiang'i is Uhuru's favourite CS having elevated him to oversee interministerial coordination.
The president's favour did not stop him from requiring the level best performance of the CS in his duties.
Speaking at Pangani Girls during the school's prize giving day, Matiang'i disclosed that when he was Education CS, President Kenyatta called him one morning regarding the administration of KCSE exams.
"One morning the president gave us an ultimatum about the exams. He told Kipsang (Education PS) and I 'If exams go wrong this year mtafute nchi yenu (look for another country to live in)'," Matiang'i recalled.
He was emphasising the president's commitment to the development of young people.
The CS also delivered a message from Uhuru to the girls, announcing that President Kenyatta would visit the school before the students went home for the August holiday.
Matiang'i reiterated his own passion for the well being of the youth, explaining that young people were the reason he launched the crackdown on betting firms and machines.
In a bid to protect the youth from harmful addictions, the CS also declared that he would not submit to pressure to legalise marijuana even for medicinal use.
He sternly rejected an application from an investor, whom he called a lunatic, who had requested to set up a cannabis factory in Kenya for pharmaceutical use.
“I agreed with my PS on Thursday that we won't even respond to that letter. We want him to make an advance and we will seek him out. We must protect our children,” ascertained Matiang'i.
