The feud between Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Wiper has escalated to its most tense point yet.
Speaking at Kwa Kathoka ATC during a wards development committee forum on Thursday, Kibwana put Kalonzo on the spot over his failure to deliver development in Ukambani.
He dared the Wiper Leader to call for a mega rally in the region to announce his retirement from politics.
The governor went ahead to flex his political muscle in Ukambani explaining that he is the only county boss Wiper Party has.
Kibwana also disclosed that he defended Kalonzo from Musalia Mudavadi who would have taken his position in NASA.
"If I hadn’t joined him Wiper Party would not have secured even a single governor position in Ukambani. I helped Kalonzo secure a running mate position in NASA to prevent Musalia Mudavadi from sealing it,” Kibwana told the crowd.
Speaking about his political pact before their relationship started spiraling downhill, Kivutha also dared Kalonzo to kick his party Muungano, out of Wiper.
The governor was also confident that being kicked out of Wiper would not have any impact on his political clout.
“We are not refusing this Wiper-Muungano divorce but even if I was in Muungano I would have retained my position since the people of Makueni in 2013 elected me due to the trust they had in me," Kivutha declared.
“His time has elapsed. He was Vice President, what did he do? So, these people saying Kalonzo will be the next president should know the position belongs to none,” Kibwana challenged.
