Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been dealt a major blow after six senior county officials resigned over the weekend.
The County Chief Finance and Planning officer Faith Njeri Harrison and five others made the decision a day after she was demoted to the trade and cooperatives docket.
Daily Nation reported that Harrison resigned due to fallout over the payment of suppliers in the county.
Among the Chief Officers who left was John Muhia who was replaced after he was sent on compulsory leave.
Dr Andrew Toro and Jane Nyokabi of the department of health and the department of public works respectively also called it a day.
This came at a time when the Kiambu Governor had reshuffled his cabinet amid investigations by the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission(EACC) over alleged corruption in the county.
All current and past ministers, other than Dr Juliet Kimemia, recorded statements with the EACC in a graft probe that has disgraced the county head and his family.
In the changes, Waititu through the county secretary Martin Njogu announced that Wilson Nyanjui would take over as the Chief Finance Officer.
He also moved Mburu Kang’ethe from the roads docket to the trade and cooperatives and replaced him with former senatorial aspirant Juliet Kimemia.
The officials also accused the governor of sending top officials on compulsory leave before replacing them.
