Here Are Details for Anne Waiguru's Upcoming Wedding

Bells have been ringing for Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru and her lover's wedding for a while now and Kenyans.co.ke can now confirm that the event is going down.

In February this year, we reported that the eloquent governor got engaged to her lover and lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo who proposed to her a few weeks before that at the lavish Lord Erroll Hotel in Runda, Nairobi.

On July 13, the two lovebirds are set to formalise their union in the final wedding ceremony as per the Kikuyu traditions.

The event will take place at Kiamugumo Primary School in Kirinyaga county. We learnt that all the invited guests are expected to confirm attendance by June 30.

It is, however, still not clear whether it will be an invites-only event.

The ceremony, identified as Ngurario, is the final part of formalising a marriage and that after it is done, the woman is considered completely taken and cannot marry another person.

The groom and his men start the ceremony by slaughtering a goat inside the bride's home.

He has to entice the bride's mother with gifts for her to release the knife he will use in the slaughter. The meat is then roasted and shared.

Waiguru and Waiganjo are both divorced from their previous marriages.
