Kenyan Who Won Ksh100M Dubai Lottery Finally Found

A Kenyan, Paul Wachira, who won a Dubai lottery valued at Ksh100 million on Tuesday and could not be traced has finally been found.

On Wednesday, Kenyans.co.ke reported that the organisers of the Dubai duty-free raffle were still trying to figure out the whereabouts of the winner.

Gulf News, a news outlet in the United Arabs Emirates, reported that after several missed calls and follow-up emails, Wachira finally responded.

The outlet further detailed that Wachira told them he was overjoyed the moment he opened his email account and found that he had emerged the winner.

Wachira bought the winning ticket (of number 2162) that he used to enter into the competition (series 302 ) on May 22.

"Thank you Dubai Duty-Free for this blessing. I am happy to win US$1 million dollars," he celebrated.

He became the first Kenyan to join the long list of millionaires to come from the duty-free raffle.

Wachira bought his ticket online at a cost of 1000 United Arab Emirates Dirham which equates to around Ksh 27,800.

Three other winners were announced in the Dubai duty-Free Finest Surprise promotion and each of them has won a luxury vehicle.

Dubai expat Ramlal Sargara won a Bentley Bentayga V8 (Dark Sapphire) in Series no. 1722 with winning ticket number 0598.

Wrya Rahimi, also a Dubai expat, won a Range Rover HSE 340 HP (Fuji White) in Series no. 1723 with ticket number 0172.

Sandun Sameera, who resides in Dubai, won an Indian Scout Bobber (Thunder Black Smoke) motorbike with ticket number 0841 in Series no. 369.
