Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok has revealed his future plans after he was unceremoniously ejected from his Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party position.
Raila Odinga on Thursday led the party's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting where they resolved to remove Turkana governor Josphat Nanok as the vice chairperson.
In his response, Nanok disclosed that he would stay put at the party and that he would continue serving his people until the end of his term.
"I will remain a member of the party and continue to serve Turkana as an ODM governor till my term (ends) in 2022," he told Daily Nation.
The governor further hit out at the party's leaders accusing them of sidelining people of Turkana despite their overwhelming voting towards the party in the last general elections.
"ODM can do what it wants, including using the old KANU tactics of the 70s to 90s", but it must not breach its constitution.
"If ODM claims to be a democratic party, it must strictly follow the process of removal of an official and election of a replacement, the officer being removed should be summoned and given the opportunity to explain himself.
"The NEC is then supposed to deliberate and recommend removal to the National Governing Council," he further added.
The resolution to have him ejected was reached over claims that the governor had quit the party after he (Nanok) publicly announced his support DP William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
The decision was reached unanimously by chairman John Mbadi, secretary general Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Senator James Orengo as well as Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi.
He was replaced with Loima MP Jeremiah Lomorukai.
