Bob Collymore's Final Days - Jeff Koinange Narrates

Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange narrated Bob Collymore’s final days before he passed away. Jeff was giving a tribute to one of the best corporate leaders in the country.

According to Jeff, he and four others had spent the afternoon with Collymore on Saturday, two days before he died.

“On Saturday, I was having lunch with my mum and my sister and I asked them to give me an hour to go and see Bob. A group of 5 people, I included had known his death was coming. Bob had informed us,” Jeff revealed while speaking to fellow anchor Sam Gituku.

Jeff detailed that the former Safaricom CEO had been informed by his doctors not to make any long term plans.

“I have never seen anyone prepare for death like Bob. He knew that he wasn’t gonna last very long as he had been told by his doctors not to make any long term plans. In fact, he was told if he makes it past July, he will be lucky,” a sorrowful Jeff narrated.

Jeff and the four other friends whom he did not reveal, found Collymore in a cheerful spirit, though he was writhing in pain.

“That Saturday, at around 3 pm we went to hang out with him, he was in a bit of pain. His spine was giving him some problems, so, he kept getting up and stretching it and sitting back down,” Jeff recalled.

“He kept saying he had lived a good life, though he had some regrets. He knew he had not lived a perfect life, but as per him, no one is perfect. He told us he was ready to die,” Jeff disclosed.

Jeff and his friends would later depart so as to let him rest, promising to visit him again on Wednesday. The five have a WhatsApp group from which they usually planned on how to check on the CEO’s health.

“In the morning I got a call from Patrick Wako who informed me that he was called at 3 am in the morning and rushed to Bob’s house and found out that he had succumbed to Leukemia,” Jeff narrated.

Collymore died at the age of 61.
