Man Moves to Court Claiming Saitoti's Son

A man identified as Sebastian Maina Ngunju, moved back to court on Monday afternoon, claiming that the late George Saitoti's son, Zachary Saitoti was, in fact, his long-lost biological son.

While filing a lawsuit at Milimani law courts against Saitoti's widow, Margret Wanjiku Saitoti, he insisted that he wanted a comprehensive DNA test carried out on Zachary to ascertain his paternal claims.

Citizen Digital reports claimed that Maina also declared his intention to have Wanjiku undergo the same test so as to finally bring an end to the entire issue that has dragged on ever since the late Professor George Saitoti passed away on June 10, 2012.

“This case is the only remaining legal avenue available to me to access my son after the previous legal and out of court process attempts to settle the matter was thwarted by Margaret’s interference calculated at denying him and his family access to justice,” he lamented.

Ngunju narrated that on September 21, 1985, his wife Elizabeth Njeri Maina gave birth to a son he named Stephen Wachira.

However, he noted that on August 31, 1988, Wachira got lost from their home in Subukia while at the tender age of three.

He further claimed that after the disappearance of his son, he learnt from police and private investigators that Wanjiku allegedly abducted him.

Ngunju went on to accuse Wanjiku of interfering with his attempts to seek reprieve at the courts ever since he raised his concerns regarding his lost son.

The Saitoti family had earlier on responded to the claims, maintaining that it was a case of mistaken identity.
