Ruto Demands Uhuru to Address These 4 Things in Their Meeting

Deputy President William Ruto has joined his allies in the call for President Uhuru Kenyatta to convene an urgent Jubilee Party meeting.

The DP's allies have in the recent past demanded a meeting to help the party iron out its wrangles that commenced in March 2018 shortly after Uhuru and Raila resolved to work together and shook hands to symbolise their unity.

According to The Standard, the DP has joined the movement urging the president to discuss four pertinent issues when he assembles the meeting at the top being the March 2018 handshake.

The other issues that Ruto reportedly demanded the president to address include party divisions, war on corruption and plans for 2022 elections.

Speaking at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa St Luke’s Church in Embakasi East Constituency on Sunday, the DP outlined the importance of the meeting as it would renew the party’s primary function of uniting and transforming Kenya.

He further added that Jubilee should not be left behind when the other parties meet up to discuss development plans.

“We are a multiparty democracy. We must, therefore, organise ourselves around national political parties with issues, programs and policies,” argued the DP.

Allies of the president, however, are opposed to the meeting's demands claiming that Uhuru is concentrating on developing the country and that is what truly matters.

“There is absolutely no need for a PG at this moment.

"I feel that the party leader has made it clear in private and public what he wants us as a party to do. He wants us to support the handshake and the Big 4 Agenda," voiced Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu.
