Comedian Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o took to his social media to mourn deceased Safaricom Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Bob Collymore and in the process, revealed how Bob got him to wear green suits.
According to Jalang'o, it was Bob who advised him to get a green suit and went as far as instructing a stylist to design it.
Jalang'o is a comedian who is well known for his hilarious green suit and cheetah printed blouse.
The comedian narrated how he had worn his cheetah print blouse when Collymore approached him at the backstage of an event to inquire why his costume was not as good as those of other comedians.
"When Safaricom started its second leg of Niko Na Safaricom Live, I was selected to host the concerts in the whole country. Then I used to wear my cheetah printed blouse ( it's a blouse, not a shirt ) and any other trouser I got," confessed Jalang'o.
"The cheetah printed shirt was my trademark until one day Bob walked backstage at the Eldoret CSR activity and asked me why everyone dressed up and had good costumes apart from me. I told him it's because of my character which he then said 'don't you think you could look better in a suit?' I just laughed but then he asked Authentique, who was dressing us at that time, to get me a green suit," he further stated.
Jalango outlined that he had since made the green suit his signature look. The comedian still held on to the first suit and even made several others that he wears to many events, especially those with green as the theme colour.
"I have made several other green suits because of the change in size but I have kept the first one for the memories!! I wear a green suit in most events mostly when the client colour is green!! Thank you, Bob. RIP." condoled the comedian.
Another comedian, Eric Omondi also came out to disclose how Collymore sponsored his inaugural Eric Omondi Stadium Tour when all his targeted sponsors turned their backs on him.
This was after a video of Eric swimming naked with children went viral causing his sponsors to drop him.
The devasted comedian's apologies at the time did not do him any good. Bob, who sympathized with Eric, sent him an uplifting WhatsApp message.
"A few corporates that were in line to sponsor my inaugural stadium tour which was in two weeks time were all over sudden not returning my calls. At around 12:46 PM Bob Collymore sent me the text above."
