Billionaire Who Gifted Son Multi-Million Hotel on His 18th Birthday

There are so many things a caring father can gift his son as a birthday present such as a nicely done cake, an expensive car or in extreme cases, a fully furnished house.

For Adnan Khashoggi, however, there was no gift befitting for his son's birthday other than a multi-billion hotel business.

According to a report by Business Daily, the respected Saudi Arabian billionaire handed the popular Mount Kenya Safari Club to his son as a present.

Located in Nanyuki, the hotel boasts of 120 luxurious rooms occupying a 100-acre landscaped garden.

The hotel won the 2013 Travellers Choice Awards and it was featured in Travel & Leisure Magazine's 'World's Top 50' List.

In a previous publication, Khashoggi once that he lost a house valued at Ksh750 million in a single bet.

The house, called Ol Pejeta Ranch, had four bedrooms that the billionaire, who was reportedly close to former President Daniel Moi, used to host lavish parties for visiting heads of state, royal family members and other billionaires.

Khashoggi reportedly lost the ownership of the palatial home to Lonrho Hotels’ Tiny Rowland during a poker game competition.

Rowland later disposed off the property to a UK charity known as Flora and Fauna International which later handed the house's management to a Kenyan trust as a conservancy for posterity.

The house reportedly contains bedrooms that have walk-in dressing rooms, two lounges, dining room, living room, two private swimming pools and large balconies.
