Sonko Surprises Lonyangapuo With Ksh100K

On Sunday, Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko surprised his West Pokot compatriot John Lonyangapuo with Ksh 100,000 at a church fundraiser in the western region county.

Sonko, who was scheduled to attend the fundraiser, sent an emissary to deliver the money after conveying his apologies to the West Pokot Governor.

Lonyangapuo was astounded by the generous move and asked his residents to applaud Sonko while sending his gratitude to his Nairobi compatriot.

“I want you to applaud the governor for his generous efforts. Sonko could not make it, but we thank him for sending someone to represent him,” Lonyangapuo appreciated.

The emissary, Vesca Kangogo, further contributed Ksh 50, 000 towards the fundraiser.

Lonyangapuo also heaped praise on the Nairobi County Executive in charge of Environment, while informing his area residents that she was familiar with the county government.

“Sonko sent someone well known around here, as she comes from around. She is the one cleaning Nairobi County,” Lonyangapuo asserted.

Earlier this month, Nairobi governor, Mike Mbuvi Sonko offered a reward cash price of Ksh 100,000 to anyone who reports two thugs who were caught on camera stealing from an MPESA shop.

He also handed out sacks of goodies to residents of Mavoko Constituency in Machakos County on one Sunday evening after a successful "Team Wanjiku" campaign in the area.

Last week, he was at Kiambu county where he handed Ksh 100,000 to the youth.
