Police Pounce on Most Wanted Gang Leader in His Hideout

Police officers, on Monday, nabbed a most wanted gang leader while he was inside his hideout in Nakuru County.

In a report by the Daily Nation, the officers tactically pounced on the notorious criminal after launching a manhunt for the gang members.

The unidentified criminal was a leader of a dreaded gang known as 'Confirm' that terrorised residents across slums in Nakuru.

Confirming the arrest, County Police Commander, Stephen Matu, revealed that the leader was arrested at Bondeni Slum and that a manhunt for a second criminal was underway.

The gang is known to ruthlessly use crude weapons and had been operating in six estates.

They include Kivumbini, Flamingo, Kisulisuli, Kaloleni, Bondeni and Lake View Estates.

Matu further divulged that the suspect was yet to be arraigned in court as the authorities pursue other members of the blacklisted gang.

Towards the end of June, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), raided the home of a leader of a Kisumu gang identifying itself as China Squad.

The gang was reportedly notorious for forging land title deeds before using them to scam unsuspecting buyers.

The detectives, who were led by Chief Inspector Luka Kiptoo, pounced on the home of the gang leader identified as Peter Ochieng Okore also known as Peter Maroon and arrested him.

During the raid, the sleuths recovered illegal title deeds, rubber stamps bearing the land registry logos and land registrar's personal stamps.
