Senate Majority Leader, Kipchumba Murkomen, on Wednesday, found himself besieged by netizens after he criticised Jeff Koinange's guest on Citizen TV's JKLive, lawyer Makau Mutua.
He faulted the US-based lawyer for wasting his time talking ill of Deputy President William Ruto, claiming he would not ascend to the presidency in 2022.
"While watching the Nigeria vs South Africa game, I am told there is a visitor on JKLive, who has used over 40mins to spew vitriol against one individual.
"He believes the problems of Kenya start and end with WSR (Ruto). You can’t have a purported human rights lawyer, whose hatred of an individual is that palpable," read Murkomen's tweet.
However, Kenyans were quick to remind the senator, that he too, had bad-mouthed politicians like ODM leader, Raila Odinga.
"Are you describing yourself? This is so you with baba (Raila)," commented Wanjuki Runyenje.
"A few years ago, you were a political commentator/analyst at Citizen TV and you were free to air your own political opinions. Now you are on the other side of the coin," read a tweet from Robert Josochi.
Mohamed Jaafar asked, "But you are also a lawyer, once dubbed as a cattle dip lawyer who has spent his entire political career insulting one Raila Odinga... What’s the difference?"
"If you spend every weekend running from one church to another spewing vitriol against one individual isn't it karma when another person uses just 40 mins to give you a taste of your own medicine," wondered Chikate Swaleh.
