Linus Kaikai's Glowing Praise to Magistrate Who Touched His Heart on Citizen TV [VIDEO]

Touched Citizen TV's Director of Strategy and Innovation, Linus Kaikai, on Thursday night, showered praises on a magistrate for showing her human character by helping a depressed plaintiff.

Speaking on News Gang show, Kaikai emotionally saluted magistrate Martha Nzushi for showing empathy to a woman who had been frustrated at Milimani Law Courts for years.

Jacinta Nduta, 54, on Wednesday, caused a scene at the court's premises, protesting the constant postponement of her 15-year-old land case after wailing all the way from the building's third floor to the ground floor.

Bystanders were just watching until Ms Martha came around to comfort her and proceeded to single-handedly help set her case back in motion.

"A note of commendation to magistrate Martha Nzushi for showing empathy and genuine concern for (Jacinta) Nduta's depressing situation. Magistrate Nzushi acted, not in her capacity as magistrate, but as a human being.

"She threw her arms around Nduta, tried to calm her down and led her to the registry where the missing file of her case miraculously surfaced," he stated.

In the report, Kaikai insinuated that Kenya's judicial system was broken and that it was sending plaintiffs into depression and others to the grave.

"Some lessons from the judiciary emerge from this unusual encounter. Our humanity must prevail. The people that seek remedy in court are real human beings, some at the tether end of hope.

"Court cases are more than just piles of paperwork, files and other jurisdictional raw materials. They are about genuine cries of those begging someone to listen and act," he added.

Nduta's court battle commenced in 2004 with a ruling in her favour made in 2017. However, the judge handling the file got transfered before restriction orders over the land usage were lifted.

Since then, her case has moved from one judge to another without a significant ruling.

“Most of the time when we go to court, it’s either the judge is not sitting, the file cannot be traced or the advocate representing the other party is not in court,” she lamented.

The four siblings she was supposed to share the land bequeathed on her by her late mother, have since died before the matter came to a close.
