Korean Pastor Lands in Court Over Forged City Hall Documents

A Kenyan-based Korean pastor was on Monday arraigned in court on accusations of forging Nairobi County documents.

Pastor Jonathan Inchoong Kang, in collaboration with Nairobi County employee Paul Misori, allegedly forged the documents in a bid to encroach on a piece of land in Kileleshwa.

The two were arraigned at the Kibera Law Courts in Nairobi.

Kang is reported to have been involved in a prolonged legal battle with his Korean neighbour in Kileleshwa, Song Seung Ho.

The pastor allegedly forged a letter of approval and claimed it was genuinely issued to him to erect a building on a sewer line.

However, Nairobi County Government denied issuing the approval to neither Kang nor his church.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) directed that Kang and Misori be charged with forgery.

The cleric denied charges in the case being heard by Kibera Principal Magistrate Boaz Ombewa.

Recently, Pastor Jean Pierre Maywa of Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) Nairobi Central, was roughed up during a dramatic incident.

According to reports, tempers flared up during a meeting that had been convened to discuss a faction that wants to split away from the church.

The group, that refers to itself as the Nairobi Cosmopolitan Conference (NCC), had lost a court case in which they were challenging the church's leadership.
